Privacy Policy
This policy explains what we collect when you use this website or ask to join Raleigh Christian Singles, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. Last updated 5 August 2026.
Who we are
Raleigh Christian Singles is a community group for Christian singles in the Raleigh area, hosted by Emilyanne and Jacob. Our website address is https://raleighchristiansingles.com, and you can reach us at [email protected].
What personal data we collect and why
When you ask to join
Our join form asks for your name, gender, date of birth, phone number, email address, the area you live in, how you heard about us, your social handles if you want to share them, and a set of questions about your interests, your faith and what you are looking for. It also asks for photos of you.
We use this to decide whether the group is a good fit, to plan events people will actually enjoy, and so that the hosts can recognise you when you turn up. We ask for your date of birth because this is an adult group and events are organised around age.
When you sign up for an event
Event signups collect your name, email address, phone number and gender, along with anything specific to that event. We ask for gender because places at an event are capped separately for men and women to keep the numbers even.
Paid events are handled by Stripe and PayPal. Your card details go straight to them. We never see them, and we do not store them on this website. What we keep is a record that the payment succeeded and how much it was for.
When you contact us
If you send us a message through the site or by email, we keep your message and your contact details so we can reply.
Information collected automatically
Whenever a form on this site is submitted, our form software also records the IP address, browser and device it was sent from, and the approximate city and country that IP address maps to. This is stored alongside the submission and is used to spot spam and abuse, and to show that a form was genuinely submitted by the person whose details are on it.
Photos you upload
Photos you send with your join form are stored on this website and are seen by the people who run the group. They are not published on the site, not shown to other members, and they are excluded from search engines.
You should know that being excluded from search engines is not the same as being locked away. The files sit at ordinary web addresses, so anyone who was given the direct link to one could open it. Please also avoid uploading photos with location data (EXIF GPS) saved inside them, since that data travels with the file.
Cookies
Browsing this site sets no cookies. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies anywhere.
Two exceptions. On the event signup page, Stripe loads its own payment code, which may set cookies it uses to detect fraud. And if you have an account and log in to the site, WordPress sets cookies to keep you logged in and remember your screen settings. Login cookies last two days, or two weeks if you tick “Remember Me”, and are removed when you log out.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers. We use a small number of services to run the group, and they handle data on our behalf:
- Stripe and PayPal process payments for paid events.
- ZeptoMail sends the emails this site sends you, such as your event confirmation.
- Cloudflare sits in front of the website and forwards mail sent to our address.
- Our web host stores the website and its database.
We will also share information if we are legally required to, or if we genuinely believe someone is at risk of harm.
How long we keep your data
We keep your membership details for as long as you are part of the group, and we keep the original form submission as a record of what you told us. Records of paid events are kept for our accounts. If you ask us to delete you, we will, apart from anything we have to keep for accounting or legal reasons.
What rights you have over your data
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct anything that is wrong, or ask us to delete it. You can also ask us to stop emailing you, either by using our unsubscribe page or by telling us directly.
Email [email protected] and we will sort it out. You do not have to give a reason.
Where your data is sent
The website and its database are hosted in the United States, and the services listed above are United States companies.
How we protect your data
The site runs over an encrypted connection. Member records are behind a password-protected admin area that only the people who run the group can reach. Payment card details never touch our systems.
Children
This is an adult group. The site is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us their details, please tell us and we will remove them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
