Participant Waiver
Please read carefully before signing. This is a legal document that affects your rights.
1. Acknowledgment of Risk
I understand that participation in events, meetups, activities, and gatherings organized, hosted, or promoted by Raleigh Christian Singles (“the Group”), including but not limited to social events, sports and recreational activities, group outings, and any related activities (each, an “Event”), involves inherent risks. These risks may include, but are not limited to, physical injury, illness, property damage, emotional distress, interactions with other participants, transportation to and from Events, and risks associated with the specific nature of an Event (such as physical activity, food and beverages, or travel). I voluntarily choose to participate in Events with full knowledge of these risks.
2. Release and Waiver of Liability
In consideration for being permitted to participate in Events, I, on behalf of myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue Emilyanne Kellogg and Jacob Eggebeen, individually and doing business as Raleigh Christian Singles, and their organizers, volunteers, hosts, and co-hosts (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or causes of action whatsoever arising out of or related to any loss, damage, injury, or death that may be sustained by me, or to any property belonging to me, while participating in an Event, whether caused by the negligence of the Released Parties or otherwise, to the fullest extent permitted by law. This release does not extend to the owners, operators, or staff of any venue or location where an Event is held, unless such person or entity is separately an organizer, volunteer, host, or co-host of the Event.
3. Indemnification
I further agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from any loss, liability, damage, or costs, including court costs and attorney’s fees, that they may incur due to my participation in an Event, whether caused by my own negligence or the negligence of others, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
4. Medical Treatment
I authorize the Released Parties to arrange for or secure any necessary emergency medical treatment on my behalf, and I agree that I am responsible for any costs associated with such treatment. I certify that I have no medical condition that would prevent my safe participation in an Event unless I have notified the Group in writing prior to the Event.
5. Photo/Video Release (Optional)
I grant Raleigh Christian Singles permission to photograph and/or video me during Events and to use such images or footage for promotional purposes, including on social media, without compensation to me.
6. Severability
If any portion of this Waiver is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining portions shall continue in full force and effect.
7. Governing Law
This Waiver shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of North Carolina.
8. Acknowledgment
I have read this Waiver, fully understand its terms, and understand that I am giving up substantial legal rights, including my right to sue. I acknowledge that I am signing this Waiver freely and voluntarily, and I intend for my signature to be a complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by law.
How you agree to this
You agree to this waiver by ticking the box when you sign up for an event. That tick is your signature. Alongside it we record your name, your contact details, and the date and time you agreed, so both of us have a record of it.
